Auburn Mechanical served as the design-build, full-mechanical contractor for the new, 23,000 square foot Kaiser Permanente Burien Medical Office Building, delivering a ground-up mechanical system installation tailored to a state-of-the-art healthcare facility. The project encompassed labs, a pharmacy, imaging areas, procedure rooms, exam rooms, offices, and common spaces, requiring a comprehensive mechanical scope that included:
Sanitary waste/vent and storm drain systems
Variable-refrigerant-flow (VRF) HVAC system
Domestic water and natural gas systems
Exhaust systems and associated ductwork
Auburn prioritized industry-leading safety procedures, particularly when working at high-bay ceilings, where scissor lifts were used to install hangers, piping, and ductwork—enhancing safety and efficiency. Additionally, after the facility opened, Auburn coordinated off-hour scheduling to install additional equipment, ensuring zero disruption to patient care and clinic operations.
