Darrel Zak

With over two decades of experience in environmental health and safety, Darrel Zak has been a driving force behind Auburn Mechanical’s commitment to workplace safety and risk management. Since joining the company in 2020, he has led strategic initiatives to enhance safety culture, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

As Safety Director, Darrel oversees the implementation of Auburn Mechanical’s safety programs, conducts risk assessments, and provides leadership in safety training and regulatory compliance. His expertise in incident investigation, crisis management, and subcontractor safety protocols ensures a proactive approach to workplace safety across all projects.

Darrel holds multiple certifications, including Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), and Certified Environmental, Safety, and Health Trainer (CET). He has an extensive background in mechanical contracting safety leadership, having previously held safety management roles at PRIME Electric, Comfort Systems USA, McKinstry, and Johnson Controls. A dedicated industry educator, Darrel also serves as a part-time EHS instructor for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington (MCAWW).
