Preconstruction With A Purpose

A successful preconstruction effort provides a forum for early collaboration with the entire design team to allow us to understand the project priorities, identify opportunities, and maximize value.

Auburn’s precon process provides value by consistently delivering smart solutions that leverage our technical expertise, progressive project management approach, and lean project delivery processes.

Auburn's Reputation is Built On

We provide technical mechanical and plumbing resources that are right-sized for projects large and small. To ensure efficiency, minimize waste, and encourage open communication, we work with our project partners to establish processes that incorporate Lean principles. Auburn Mechanical takes pride in providing project teams with nimble, creative, and cost-effective, engineering-based solutions.
Collaboration begins by engaging with key project stakeholders to help define project goals with the team. We want to take full advantage of working side-by-side with the entire project team and get started on the right track. Our job during the early stages is to listen—and then to provide information and solutions.
Regardless of the delivery method (Integrated Project Delivery, Design-Build, Design-Assist), our approach is to engage the right people at the right time. Being a trusted contributor during the design stage helps us provide the best value.
Our goal is to deliver the best possible long-term system solution within the parameters of the project target budget and schedule. We believe that making smart life cycle cost decisions is just as important to consider as first costs.
On projects where Building Information Modeling (BIM) makes sense, we integrate design and construction BIM experts into our team to leverage the full utility of the model, including highly accurate quantity take-offs using our historical cost database.

Using Stratus software, our fabrication process has enhanced our ability to design and install mechanical systems within an eighth of an inch tolerance.

Auburn met the demands of a very complex project, meeting three times a week to sequence and pull plan the schedule. Auburn played a vital role in coordinating with all other trades both in the office and field to complete the job.”
