UW Tacoma McDonald Smith Hall

About the project

Auburn Mechanical provided HVAC and plumbing services for the renovation of McDonald-Smith Hall, a historic 1890 building on the UW Tacoma campus. The project transformed the space by adding modern office and meeting areas, while upgrading the mechanical systems to improve efficiency and comfort.

This renovation was completed while Level 1 remained occupied, requiring careful coordination to minimize disruptions. The fully renovated building now provides updated classroom, office, and meeting spaces, blending historic preservation with modern functionality to support the university’s evolving needs.
