About John Payne

With over three decades of experience in the mechanical service industry, John Payne has built a distinguished career in HVAC and plumbing service operations. Since joining Auburn Mechanical in 2012, he has played a key role in growing the company’s Service and Pure Water Divisions, bringing strategic leadership and a client-focused approach to facility maintenance and optimization.

Promoted to Vice President of the Service Division in 2015, John oversees daily operations and financial performance while developing customized maintenance programs that enhance equipment longevity, reduce energy costs, and minimize downtime for clients. Having worked in nearly every service role—from dispatch and operations to sales and executive leadership—he brings a well rounded perspective to team building and customer partnership.

John holds an Associate Degree in Business & General Studies and has completed numerous strategic sales and client management training programs, as well as MCA’s Service Managers and Project Manager courses. He currently serves as Chair of the MCAWW Service Committee, is a Mechanical Service Professional Training Instructor, and has been actively involved in union negotiations.
